FANTASTIC COVER

Speaking of the Fantastic Four, here is my favorite FF cover of all time, by the great Jack Kirby. I just love the drama, the colors, the layout. It's perfection! This is issue #45, in which the Inhumans were introduced. FF was really hitting it's high water mark around this time. The stories and art were getting better and better. Exciting new characters and concepts were being introduced in practically every issue. Three issues later, the Silver Surfer would be introduced.

This very issue, and lots of other Fantastic Four comics, and thousands of other great vintage comics are now on sale at my ebay store!

FANTASTIC THREE

Fantastic Four #587 in which a member "dies" is going to be on sale a day early. You can get your copy today, Tuesday January 25th. It will be on sale at our Mountain View store by 1:00 pm, and at our San Mateo store by 3:00 pm. We will be selling it for the cover price of $3.99, and limiting to one per customer, so that we can serve as many people as possible. The rest of the shipment will be on sale on Wednesday, as usual.

LEE'S WALL OF DEATH!

Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 by George Perez. Perhaps the most imitated comic book cover of all time, but it, in turn had its antecedents.

Many years ago I kept a collection of comics on my store wall that featured the theme shown here. I've now re-created that collection, and it is available for viewing on my Facebook page. There are now over 50 covers posted there, so make sure to check it out. All friend requests will be fulfilled.

X-Men #136 by John Byrne and Terry Austin pre-dated Crisis #7 by four years.

Brave and Bold #84 by Neal Adams, a full decade before the X-Men cover, and clearly a big influence.

Batman #156 by Shelly Moldoff, a decade before Neal's Brave and Bold cover. Perhaps the first fallen super-hero cover of it's kind.
